Job Description:


The environmental service worker maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the facility. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain resident rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility. The position follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements.

Applicant Must:

Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.

Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of the housekeeping areas, must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.

Be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices.

Be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.

Be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.

Not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
